After seeing it in the theaters and doing some further research, Passengers is listed as a modern-fantasy film that is great for those who love romance and action. This movie is approximately two hours long, and takes place in the future. It includes Jennifer Lawrence as Aurora Lane, a writer, and Chris Pratt as Jim Preston, a mechanical engineer and Aurora Lane's love interest,as well as Michael Sheen as Arthur, an android bartender on the Avalon, Laurence Fishburne as Chief Gus Mancuso, the chief deck officer, Andy García as Captain Norris, and Aurora Perrineau as Celeste.
The spaceship, Starship Avalon, in its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as the "Homestead Colony" and transporting 5,258 people has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result, one hibernation pod opens prematurely and the one person that awakes, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) is stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from his destination. Whilst he is exploring the Avalon, Jim notices a girl in her pod named Aurora Lane, (Jennifer Lawrence) and he ends up getting her out of her pod, which can be considered the climax of the movie. The rest of the movie follows, full of action and in my personal opinion the movie gets better as it progresses.
It’s rated as PG-13, and has ratings of a seven out of ten by IMDb, and the entire movie is almost two hours, being an hour and fifty-six minutes. Overall, I would go see it at home, but it was an O.K. movie to see out in theaters.
