It’s official; Donald J. Trump is the president of the United States of America.
The President was inaugurated on the afternoon of January 20, and weeks into his presidency nobody was surprised; a lot of changes were made and a lot of protests ensued.

On January 21, 2017, a day after the inauguration, a national Women’s March took place in Washington D.C.. This was to oppose the inauguration of Trump. It was a widely-known success, as a reported 500,000 people joined the march.
Less than a month after he was appointed to this honorable job, President Trump enacted an immigration law that restricted people from six key Muslim countries from entering our country. Anti-Trump rallies were an immediate uproar as even some American citizens were being hurt by this sudden law. The law was quickly blocked as it was deemed a law that was not appropriate. However, Donald Trump says “see you in court” as he continues to attempt to implement these strict immigration rules.
In addition, he has been busy appointing new officers in the White House. For example, he hired Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and Dr. Ben Carson as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
There are many more things to come from this presidency such as more news about the wall, new laws, and more protests. America will just have to wait and see what happens next!
