When winter comes around and snow starts to fall, all the sports move indoors. Wrestling is one of these indoor sports for the Winter Season, which is already in full swing. The wrestlers all have high expectations for themselves and their teammates. I spoke to Shane Murphy, the captain and starting 138lb wrestler. When asked about his expectations for his teammates he told me, “This year we have a lot of very good wrestlers who could go far into the state tournament, like AJ Pinto, Dominick Hink, and Dylan Hanlon.” Shane Murphy, or “Murph” as his team calls him, also stated that, “My ultimate goal is to hit 100 wins for my career!” It may sound like an out-of-reach goal, but he is already approaching 90, not even halfway through his senior year. I highly suggest coming out to one of the home matches this year and supporting the team, because for the first time in two years the Marauders have a powerhouse team and are dominating their matchups. From 106 to 285 the wrestling team has many solid starters including, Ryan Lopez 120, Vincent Decarlo 152, Dominick Spera 160, and Javon “Tiny” Davidson 285. Come out to support your Marauder Wrestling Team!
