Are you a fan of Game of Thrones, The Voice, or Mr. Robot?

Just last month on September 18, the 68th Emmy Awards were located in Los Angeles, California. The host was none other than comedian Jimmy Kimmel. This award show to honor television series of all genres was full of surprises and excitement for not only the recipients, but the people watching as well.

Game of Thrones dominated once again. This critically acclaimed HBO show won the award for Best Drama Series. The Best Comedy Series award was given to Veep, a show also on the HBO channel. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story won Best Mini-Series or Movie. Rami Malek took home “Best Actor in a Drama Series” for Mr. Robot. Also, The Voice was given the title of the Best Reality Competition Program, and RuPaul Charles won the “Reality Host” title for his show RuPaul’s Drag Race. These are just a few of the winners.

To ease our hearts from the anticipation, the kids from Stranger Things, the new and popular Netflix show, appeared at the ceremony! The kids gave out sandwiches to the actors and actresses in the crowd during the show.

In addition, the Emmy’s displayed an “In Memoriam” slideshow, which showcased actors and actresses who died this year. Tori Kelly sang an acoustic version of “Hallelujah” as significant figures such as David Bowie and Alan Rickman appeared on the screen.

In all, the 2016 Emmy Awards were full of laughter, grief, and joy. It was a great night of giving attention to the small screen. 2017 awards, here we come!
